Food Merchants/Convenience Stores Sponsor Energy Savings Workshops October 5, 7, 8
The PA Food Merchants Association and the PA Convenience Store Council are sponsoring three seminars in October on how business owners can reduce their energy costs.

The seminars will be held October 5 at 10:00 a.m. in Pittsburgh; October 7 at 10:00 a.m. in Bethlehem; and October 8 at 2:00 p.m. in Camp Hill. Seating is limited. Registration deadline is October 1.

With electricity rate caps expiring over the next two years, business owners could be looking at a 30 to 60 percent increase in their electric utility bills.

"Anyone who owns a business that uses electricity should attend this session," said David L. McCorkle, PFMA president and CEO. "While we're offering this seminar to our members, we thought it would be helpful to offer it to anyone doing business in Pennsylvania. After all, everyone will be affected when the rate caps are lifted."

The 1.5 hour seminar will provide attendees with valuable energy saving ideas that will help them offset the costs of increased electric rates.

Energy expert John Bodine, On Demand Energy, Inc., will present energy management strategies that can help businesses save money and make those rate increases more manageable. On Demand Energy's team works with energy supply, utilities and utility rate structures. They have many years experience analyzing electricity usage patterns, evaluating supply options and recommending suppliers to help save businesses money on their electricity.

The seminar costs just $15. Register today for the seminar, space is limited.

To register, visit the PFMA website or call Jamie Overmiller at 717-703-3165.
