Video Blog- Game Commission Reschedules NE Deer Open House, Posts Deer Video Presentation

Game Commission Northeast Region Director Steve Schweitzer announced the deer open house postponed on February 27, because of bad weather, has been rescheduled for March 28.

           The event will be held from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at PPL Wallenpaupack Environmental Learning Center, 126 PPL Drive in Hawley.
            “Open houses are used by the agency as an interactive public outreach tool to explain and answer questions about the agency’s deer management program,” Schweitzer said.
            Open House Presentation Posted
            In an effort to reach more people with its deer open house program, Game Commission officials posted a two-part video clip on the agency's website offers a virtual tour of the open house display.

            "Over the past four rounds, we have been attempting to move the open houses around in each of our six regions to maximize the opportunity for those interested in attending," said Carl G. Roe, Game Commission executive director. "Additionally, we've been holding these open houses on weekends to avoid times when many people are working.
            "To further expand the opportunity for people to see what these open houses are all about, we are pleased to be able to post these two video clips on our website. However, we really encourage people to attempt to visit the open house, as there are opportunities to speak with various Game Commission employees, get answers to your questions, provide feedback and obtain additional information about deer management and hunting."
