Photo

Got cabin fever? Want to get the kids and spouse out of the house? Help cleanup trash and floating debris in the woodland and wetlands of the Susquehanna River and learn what you can do to help protect our Earth. Fun for the whole family!

JSTFishin’ Guide Service and the Watershed Alliance of York are sponsoring the 2nd Susquehanna River Spring Cleanup on March 20 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., in partnership with the Lower Susquehanna Riverkeeper, Modern Landfill, PPL Corp, Republic Services, Inc., York County Conservation District and York Waste Disposal. Interested citizen volunteers should meet at the Gut Road boat launch area, near Saginaw, East Manchester Township.
All ages welcome, children and youth must be accompanied by parent or adult. Trash bags, work gloves and light refreshments provided. Dress for the weather, water-proof foot gear recommended. Come for the whole day, or just an hour or two.
Cleanup will be held rain or shine; unless a River Flooding or Severe Weather Warnings are issued for the area the day of the event, then cleanup will be cancelled.
The Watershed Alliance of York is a coalition of stakeholders committed to encouraging watershed-based planning, restoration and protection in York County and beyond.
Pre-registration requested for planning purposes. Please call or send email to: Gary R. Peacock   gpeacock@yorkccd.org or call 717-840-7687 and let us what time you’ll be volunteering and how many.
