10.6 Million Pounds Collected In EPA Mid-Atlantic RecycleMania College Competition

Results are in on the 2010 U.S. Environmental Protection Agency RecycleMania college recycling competition Mid-Atlantic schools collected/recycled approximately 10,620,525 pounds of materials.  
            The competition was conducted between January17 and March 27 and supported by EPA's WasteWise Program.  
            EPA will present an Award of Excellence to the top school in each state who ranked Number 1 in the "Per Capita Classic" category, namely: Ursinus College (Pa.); University of Delaware; American University (D.C.); Loyola University (Md.); Emory and Henry College (Va.); and Alderson Broaddus College (W. Va.).  
            For three consecutive years, EPA Region 3 has boasted the following RecycleMania accomplishments:  Number 1 State – 48 Pennsylvania participated in the 2009 competition; Number 1 EPA regional office for the number of schools participating; and at least school from every state within our Region participated in RecycleMania 2009.
