Senate (April 5): Senate Bill 302 (MJ White-R-Venango) further providing for annual reports from the Keystone Recreation, Park and Conservation Fund; Senate Bill 303 (MJ White-R-Venango) further providing for reports under the Hazardous Sites Cleanup Act; Senate Bill 304 (MJ White-R-Venango) requiring further public review of state Air Quality Implementation Plans; Senate Bill 325 (Baker-R-Luzerne) giving the Public Utility Commission further authority to regulate pipeline safety.  <> Click Here for full Senate Bill Calendar.

Bills Introduced

The following bills of interest were introduced this week--

Well Inspections: Senate Bill 600 (Ward-R-Westmoreland) requiring DEP to post the results of gas well inspections on the Internet and any enforcement follow up.

Critical Drinking Water Zones: Senate Bill 859 (McIlhinney-R-Bucks) providing for the designation of critical drinking water zones.

County Waste Fee: Senate Bill 863 (Costa-D-Allegheny) authorizing a county waste management fee.

Noncoal Mining: Senate Bill 898 (Tomlinson-R-Bucks) further providing for the temporary cessation of noncoal mining operations.

Gas Well Restrictions: House Bill 1163 (George-D-Clearfield) further providing for the duties of mineral rights and surface rights owners relating to compensation agreements, additional restrictions on issuing permits for wells.

Well Spacing: House Bill 1211 (Vitali-D-Delaware) provides for at least a two mile space between Marcellus Shale natural gas drilling sites.
