Reminder: Waste Watchers Recognition Program Applications Due May 18

The Professional Recyclers of Pennsylvania this week reminded potential applicants the deadline for 2011 Waste Watchers Recognition applications is May 18.

            The Waste Watcher awards are given to recycling, waste reduction, reuse and composting programs in Pennsylvania that have exhibited exemplary performance.
            The categories include: Recycling, Composting/Organics,Public Education Special Event Special Collections, Reuse, Environmental Rehabilitation, Recycling Innovations,Waste Reduction, and Closing the Loop
            Last year 70 plus municipalities, counties, private businesses, individuals and community organizations from throughout Pennsylvania were recognized for going above and beyond what is mandated under Act 101 for their communities or programs.  
            PROP is also welcome any "Tales from the Trenches" stories about occurrences at your facilities, offices, special events, etc. They'll be shared at the presentation ceremony at the noon PROP conference luncheon on July 27, at the Erie Bayfront Convention Center in Erie, Pa.
