Help Wanted: DEP Citizens Advisory Council Executive Director

The Citizens Advisory Council to the Department of Environmental Protection is seeking individuals to fill the position of Executive Director.
            This is a full time professional staff position directing the activities of the Citizens Advisory Council, an independent, legislatively created, advisory body to the Commonwealth with the responsibility to research, analyze and issue recommendations involving public policy issues relating to environmental protection and the function and operation of the Department of Environmental Protection.
            The position requires extensive knowledge of fields related to the work of DEP, current environmental issues and trends, and the organization and function of the executive and legislative branches of Pennsylvania state government.  Excellent writing, oral communication, consensus building and office management skills required.
            Salary range is $61,575 to $93,595 with an attractive benefits package.
            Any combination of experience and training which affords the applicant the required knowledge and abilities.  Preference will be given to applicants with six years of progressively responsible experience developing, promoting and administering environmental policy and a bachelor’s degree in public administration or a field related to the work of DEP.
