Pittsburgh TreeVitalize To Host Feb. 9 Workshop On Community Tree Planting

Are you interested in planting and caring for trees in your neighborhood? Join TreeVitalize and Tree Pittsburgh for an information session February 9 to learn how to apply for new trees to plant and organize neighbors to help care for trees in the community.
"The Tree Tender program has been essential to the success of TreeVitalize Pittsburgh because it teaches people how to care for community trees," said Jeffrey Bergman, director of the TreeVitalize Pittsburgh program. "While tree care is a very important responsibility, it can also be rewarding and fun. Tree Tenders often become leaders for tree stewardship and act as the best advocates for more tree planting and care in their neighborhoods."
This session is open to City of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County residents. Refreshments and a light dinner will be provided.  The program will be held from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the the Conservation Consultants Inc. offices, at 64 South 14th Street, Pittsburgh.  Parking may be accessed on 13th Street.
Register for the event on Treevitalize Pittsburgh's Facebook page or by sending email to: tboruch-mcdonough@paconserve.org.  Learn about similar programs in other parts of Pennsylvania by going to the TreeVitalize website.
