PA Schools Recognized In National Recycle-Bowl Competition

Students dozens of Pennsylvania schools were recognized in the Recycle-Bowl National School Recycling Competition.
            Open Division
            Two Pennsylvania school ranked second and tenth in the Open Division of the contest: 2- Boyce Middle School (Allegheny County) and 10-Elk County Catholic High School (Elk County).

            School vs. School Division
            These schools in Pennsylvania took the top five spots in the School vs. School Division:  Riverside Elementary West (Lackawanna County), Stroudsburg Middle School (Monroe County, Greenfield School (Philadelphia), Mill Hall Elementary (Clinton County) and Philipsburg-Osceola High School (Centre County).
               Philipsburg-Osceola students, for example, recycled over 7,000 pounds of material in the one month long competition and was awarded with a $500 check from Greenstar Recycling for their efforts.  An extra congratulations goes to PO Senior Matt Schuster.  Matt’s Senior Project was to be in charge of the recycling efforts for this competition.

            Drop-Off Division
            These schools in Pennsylvania were recognized in the School Drop-Off Division and their national ranking: 8- Nebinger Elementary (Philadelphia), 28- Mountaintop Area Elementary School (Centre County), 35- Hamilton Elementary School (Lancaster County), 39- Fulton County Community Christian School (Fulton County), 91- Bellefonte Area High School (Centre County), 119-Harry S. Truman High School (Bucks County), 132- Wesley Spectrum Highland School (Allegheny County).
