Wildlife For Everyone Remembers 9/11 Thru State Game Lands 93

The Wildlife for Everyone Foundation takes great pride in being one of the many partners, both public and private, to honor those who lost their lives 12 years ago.

In 2002 the Game Commission announced the establishments of State Game Lands 93.  The vision for the creation of SGL 93 is to protect and preserve the area surrounding the National Park Service Flight 93 Memorial from future development and provide continued recreational opportunities to local residents and visitors.

This site, located at the northern boundary, helps to maintain a dignified entrance to the Memorial and protects land that was in the flight path of Flight 93.

In 2007 the Foundation partnered with Waste Management, Inc. with the first of three projects for SGL 93.  Waste Management generously donated 30 acres to the Foundation which included important wetlands.  The Foundation, in turn, donated this prime piece of property to the Game Commission to become part of SGL 93.

Early 2010, Waste Management supported this project again with a donation of another 46 acres through the Foundation.  That summer, a four acre property containing a house near the entrance along Route 30 and SGL 93 came up for sale.

Upon hearing of this acquisition, Waste Management offered to tear down the house and provide backfill all at their own costs.  The Foundation once again coordinated both of these projects and then turned them over to the Game Commission.

While nothing can bring back the lives that were lost that day, the Wildlife for Everyone Foundation is proud to be a partner with State Game Lands 93 as we are remembering every day, especially on September 11.
