Lancaster County Preserves 100,000th Acre Of Farmland

Lancaster County Thursday marked a major milestone in its farmland preservation program by preserving the 100,000th acre of farmland, something no other county in the U.S. has achieved.

“By protecting the infrastructure that supports the industry, we are taking a very important step in preserving our economy and protecting a very important source of income for the economy,” said Karen Martynick, Executive Director of the Lancaster Farmland Trust.
