Bills Introduced

The following bills of interest were introduced this week--

Conventional Wells: House Bill 2350 (Causer-R-Cameron) providing for different regulations for conventional oil and gas wells than Marcellus Shale gas wells-- sponsor summary(June 2, 2014 PA Environment Digest)  The Senate version of this legislation-- Senate Bill 1378 (Scarnati-R- Jefferson)-- MAY be considered by the Senate Environmental Resources and Energy Committee next week.

Legislative Approval Of Greenhouse Gas Plan: House Bill 2354 (Snyder-D-Fayette) requiring the approval of the General Assembly of any plan submitted by DEP to comply with EPA greenhouse emission reduction requirements- sponsor summary.  (The bill is scheduled to be considered by the House Environmental Resources and Energy Committee on June 25 in Room G-50 of the Irvis Building starting at 9:00.)

Severance Tax: House Bill 2358 (DiGirolamo-R-Bucks) providing for the imposition of a 4.9 percent natural gas severance tax to replace the drilling impact fees-- sponsor summary.

Senate General Fund Budget Bill: Senate Bill 1431 (Corman-R-Centre) FY 2014-15 General Fund budget bill.

Drilling On Other State Lands: Senate Bill 1443 (White-R-Indiana) amending the Indigenous Mineral Resource Development Act to specify surface and subsurface land and any rights therein.

25th Anniversary Of ARRIPPA: Senate Resolution 409 (Hutchinson-R-Venango) recognizing the 25th anniversary of the Anthracite Region Independent Power Producers was introduced and adopted by the Senate-- sponsor summary.
