Friends Of The Allegheny Wilderness Host Nov. 22-23 Wilderness Hike

In ongoing commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the federal Wilderness Act, Friends of the Allegheny Wilderness and the Butler Outdoor Club are planning on backpacking the 13-mile Hickory Creek Wilderness trail in Warren County over the weekend of November 22nd - 23rd.

The group will meet at the Hickory Creek Wilderness trailhead on Hearts Content Road at 10:30 a.m. on the 22nd. There is no charge to participate, but all hikers should bring their own food and camping equipment, and come fully prepared for any weather conditions we may encounter.

All hikers should also wear fluorescent orange or some other bright color since the 22nd is a hunting day.

Trip leader is Joe Hardisky, long time board member for Friends of Allegheny Wilderness, and can be contacted by sending email to: hardis123@msn.com.
