PA Sea Grant Aquatic Invasive Species Training Jan. 22, 28 In Harrisburg, Erie

The Pennsylvania Sea Grant Program has scheduled two training sessions on aquatic invasive species and biosecurity on January 22 in Harrisburg and January 28 in Erie.

— January 22:1:30 p.m. - 3 p.m., Location:  Susquehanna River Basin Commission offices, 4423 N. Front Street, Harrisburg. Registration deadline: January 20.  Registration is free, but we need a list for building access and to know how many materials to bring.  Contact Sarah Whitney by email to: swhitney@psu.edu to sign up.  Snow date: January 23, 1:30 p.m., same location

— January 28: 2 p.m. - 3:30 p.m., Location: Tom Ridge Environmental Center, Room 112, 301 Peninsula Dr., Erie. Registration deadline: January 23.  Registration is free, but we need a list for building access and to know how many materials to bring.  Contact Sara Stahlman by email to: sng121@psu.edu to sign up.

The target audience is anyone (agency staff, conservation districts, watershed associations, etc) doing fieldwork or research in multiple locations that involves getting feet or equipment wet.  The presentation provides information about AIS issues in general, and general steps and specific techniques for preventing the spread of AIS.
