Lacawac Sanctuary: Student Conservation & Leadership Academy July 12-18

The Lacawac Sanctuary is now accepting applications for its student Conservation and Leadership Academy to be held July 12-18 open to students 13-15 years old in Pike and Wayne counties.  The application deadline is June 15.

The CLA experience provides students with:

-- The skills to become a respected conservation leader

-- An awareness of your connectedness with others and the natural world around you

-- An understanding of ecological concepts and their application in modern conservation practices

-- A knowledge of potential “green” career choices and environmental issues challenging future “green” leaders

-- Daily hands-on field experiences and recreational opportunities

-- Introductions to aquatic ecology & water quality, forest management, deer management, agriculture best-management practices, technology and nature.
