The Anthracite Region Independent Power Producer’s Association recently announced the award of its 6th Annual Abandoned Mine Land/Abandoned Mine Drainage Remediation Grants Program.

The $5,000 in grants were awarded to: Huntingdon County Conservation District- $750, Elk County Conservation District- $1,250, Allegheny Land Trust- $500, Earth Conservancy- $1,200, McGlynn Learning Center- $500 and the Mehoopany Creek Watershed Association- $800.

Also supporting the grant program were the on the Western PA Coalition For Abandoned Mine Reclamation and the Eastern PA Coalition for Abandoned Mine Reclamation.
