The Weis Market on Union Deposit Road in Harrisburg has new sustainability signage highlighting environmental initiatives by the food and drug store retailer.

Sunbury-based Weis Markets has sustainability initiatives in: Green Design & Energy Conservation, Natural Resources, Food & Agriculture and Social Responsibility.

In 2015 Weis Markets became the second food retailer to receive the Grocery Stewardship Certification for incorporating sustainability practices into its day-to-day operations.  Weis also received the 2015 Retail Sustainability Award from Produce Business magazine for its overall corporate sustainability initiatives.
