Important Meetings On DEP Coal, Non-Coal Mining Permit Fee Increases Coming Up

At the February 18 Aggregate Advisory Board and February 23 Mining and Reclamation Advisory Board meetings, will hold important discussions on finalizing their recommendations on proposals by the Department of Environmental Protection to increase permit review and administration fees.

DEP staff said the fee increases are needed because of a continuing decline in General Fund support in the budget for DEP programs.

The Aggregate Advisory Board meeting webpage includes a fee schedule proposed by DEP.  The Board has been discussing possible fee increases since last May.

Nothing is yet posted on the Mining and Reclamation Advisory Board page, but the Board has also been discussing fee increases since last May.

The Aggregate Advisory Board will meet February 18 in Room 105 Rachel Carson Building in Harrisburg starting at 9:00 for a committee meeting and 10:00 for the full Board.  Click Here for available handouts.

The Mining and Reclamation Advisory Board will meet February 23 in the 2nd Floor Training Room, Rachel Carson Building starting at 9:00 for a committee meeting and 10:00for the full Board.   Click Here for available handouts.
