PEC: 2015 Laurel Highlands Conservation Coalition Accomplishments

2015 was an exciting year for the Laurel Highlands Conservation Coalition, highlighted by the opening of the $7 million Ohiopyle Visitor Center in July (photo).

Composed of DCNR, other state agencies, the PA Environmental Council and other non-profits, businesses, and the larger Laurel Highlands community, the Coalition works to advance trail development, bring communities together, and much more.

Below are the Coalition’s top 10 achievements from throughout the last year, including the Visitor Center, September 11 National Memorial Trail, Dunbar Coke Ovens, Loyalhanna Creek, Stonycreek River, making trails connections, the Blairsville Bridge, the Lift at Johnstown and more.
