Students: Discover Tom Ridge Wetlands Thru The Camera Lens May 10
Photo

On May 10, the Wildlife for Everyone Endowment Foundation invites you to explore, discover and understand wetlands using technology.

Groups of kids between 10 and 18 years old can learn about the Governor Tom Ridge Wetlands and the wildlife that calls it home through the lens of a camera.

At the event we’ll see that your team gets a camera and they you’re off to explore and photograph the wetlands.  After the adventure, your group will upload a slideshow to teach others about what you’ve learned.

If you don’t know how to use a camera or create a presentation, don’t worry, we’ll help you!

All teams will be eligible to win prizes and the best pictures from each team will be uploaded to the Wildlife for Everyone Foundation website.

The Governor Tom Ridge Wetland is located along U.S. Route 220 between Julian and Martha Furnace in Centre County.

The Wetlands includes about 55 acres of wetlands; 15 acres of upland woodland; a quarter-mile of frontage on Bald Eagle Creek, which is a multi-use recreational stream stocked with trout; about 1.5 miles of trails along the wetlands; off-street parking; and 35-40 acres that could be developed by WFEEF in the future.
