Chesapeake Bay Foundation Wins 2016 Arbor Day Foundation Recognition

Seventeen individuals and organizations are the recipients of a 2016 Arbor Day Award in honor of their outstanding contribution to tree planting, conservation and stewardship from the Arbor Day Foundation Wednesday.

The Good Steward Award is being presented to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.

For the last 40 years, the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, a unique private lands management collaboration, has been working to save the national treasure that is the Chesapeake Bay.

With support from thousands of volunteers, partner organizations and donors, the Chesapeake Bay Foundation has planted more than 2.2 million trees, restored 6,000 acres of wetlands and has added almost 20,000 acres of forested buffers along stream banks.
