The Pennsylvania Sea Grant Program and the Department of Environmental Protection will hold the next meeting of the Pennsylvania Lake Erie Forum on September 19 at the Erie County Conservation District, 1927 Wager Road in Erie from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

The purpose of PA LEEF is to present information to the public on water quality, scientific studies, policy issues, DEP and partner actions on Pennsylvania Lake Erie tributaries, and larger-scale policies across the Great Lakes.

The meeting will focus on the status of current drafts of the Pennsylvania Domestic Action Plan to meet Lake Erie phosphorus reduction targets and timelines for implementation.

The Forum will provide the opportunity for DEP and Sea Grant staff to gather comments and input from meeting attendees.

The Forum will also update participants on multiple monitoring programs including hypoxia and HABs.

The Special Focus topic will be stormwater management and the roles municipalities play in protecting Lake Erie water quality.

Presentations will introduce new methods available to municipalities to sustainably fund stormwater management responsibilities and infrastructure.
