"Meg has dedicated her personal and professional life to the advancement of recycling," said NRC Vice President Fran McPoland. "As a long-time NRC Board member, serving as president, chair, vice president and treasurer, Meg was a major force in the re-emergence of the NRC, helping organize the rebuilding of the organization and its finances."

With over 25 years of experience in sustainable materials management, Ms. Morris has worked with communities around the United States to implement sustainable waste management and recycling systems.

At Covanta, Ms. Morris leads the company's Community Outreach initiatives such as Fishing for Energy, Prescription for Safety (Rx4Safety) and mercury collections.

"Meg is an outstanding recycling professional whose tireless efforts have assisted communities nationwide in developing sustainable, integrated waste management strategies that follow the 4Rs – reduce, reuse, recycle and recover," said Paul Gilman, Covanta's Senior Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer. "I congratulate her on this well-deserved honor and look forward to her continued contributions to the advancement of sustainable materials management."

In addition to her work at Covanta, Ms. Morris has had long-standing roles on the Boards of Directors for the Go Green Initiative, the Federation of New York Solid Waste Associations, America Recycles Day, Inc. and MassRecycle.

Covanta operates 5 energy-from-waste facilities in Pennsylvania, including facilities in Dauphin, Delaware, Lancaster, Montgomery and York counties, an electronics waste recycling facility in Philadelphia and a metals recycling processing facility in Bucks County.
