The Department of Environmental Protection Friday released the final technical guidance on the Acid Mine Drainage Set-Aside Program which guides the distribution of up to 30 percent of the federal mine reclamation funding DEP receives to fund local reclamation projects.  (formal notice)

The guidance sees to target funding to the most cost effective projects to maximize the stream miles restored due to pollution from unreclaimed coal mines and drainage from abandoned mines.

A copy of the guidance is available online.  For more information, contact Jeffrey Means, DEP, by calling 814-472-1832 or send email to: jemeans@pa.gov
