The Western PA Conservancy is now accepting applications for Western PA Canoe Access Development Grants.  The deadline for applications is November 14.

The Canoe Access Development Fund helps to make the region’s rivers and streams more accessible for outdoor recreation.

The Fund provides modest grants for developing access sites. WPC is currently working with partners on new projects that will improve canoe and kayak access to the region’s waterways.

The Fund was established by longtime Conservancy members and outdoor enthusiasts Roy Weil and Mary Shaw, who believe in the importance of connecting people to nature through hands-on experiences.

To date, the CADF program has funded improvements at more than 40 locations across the region, working with a variety of partners including watershed associations, local government, economic development organizations and state agencies.

Successful grant recipients will be notified by December 16.

For more information, visit WPC’s Canoe Access Development Fund webpage. Questions should be directed to Eli Long, WPC watershed manager, by sending email to: elong@paconserve.org or calling 724-471-7202.
