CMU’s Wilton E. Scott Institute for Energy Innovation and other partners will host the Building A Resilient, Smart and Sustainable Pittsburgh: The Energy-Water Nexus program February 16 at Carnegie Mellon University.

This conversation features a gathering of national thought leaders and distinguished guests discussing the issues and opportunities surrounding the Nexus of Energy and Water management, both nationally and in Pittsburgh.

The evening event will feature Dr. Michael E. Webber, Deputy Director of the Energy Institute as the keynote speaker followed by a panel discussion including—

-- Rich Fitzgerald, Allegheny County Executive;

-- Bill Peduto, Mayor of Pittsburgh;

-- Philip Mezey, CEO of Itron Inc.;

-- Morgan O'Brien, President and CEO of Peoples Natural Gas;

-- Richard Riazzi, President and CEO of Duquesne Light Company; and

-- Rick Stafford, MetroLab and Metro21 Founder and Distinguished Service Professor at CMU’s Heinz College

The moderators will be—

-- Dr. Jared L. Cohon, Director for Wilton E. Scott Institute for Energy Innovation, President Emeritus and University Professor, Civil and Environmental Engineering & Engineering and Public Policy; and

-- Anna J. Siefken, Associate Director for Innovation and Strategic Partnerships, Wilton E. Scott Institute for Energy Innovation

The program will be held at CMU’s McConomy Auditorium, Cohon University Center from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m.

The event is supported by Itron Inc., Duquesne Light Company, the City of Pittsburgh, Peoples Natural Gas and CMU's Wilton E. Scott Institute for Energy Innovation
