Sen. John T. Yudichak (D-Luzerne), Minority Chair of the Senate Environmental Resources and Energy Committee, Friday issued the following statement in response to President Trump’s proposed cuts to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency--

"Every Pennsylvanian’s fundamental right to clean air and water will be seriously challenged if the proposed thirty percent cut to the EPA passes the U.S. Congress.

“The EPA is a critical funding partner for the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. EPA helps us inspect safe drinking water systems, monitor air pollution, and reclaim abandoned mine lands through innovative partnerships with groups like the Earth Conservancy.

"Protecting the environment is not only a public safety issue, it's a jobs issue for Pennsylvania companies who interact with DEP to advance economic development projects throughout the Commonwealth."
