House Environmental Committee OKs 1 Year Extension Of Recycling Fee

The House Environmental Resources and Energy Committee Thursday reported out two bills, one bill to extend the $2 Recycling Fee in Act 101, but only after amending the bill to extend the fee for one year.  The bills included--

-- Senate Bill 646 (Killion-R-Delaware) now amended to extend the $2 recycling fee for one year until January 1, 2021; and

-- Senate Bill 144 (Yaw-R-Lycoming) amending Act 537 ton include alternative on-lot sewage systems in sewage plans (sponsor summary) which was also amended to require DEP to do a study on the effectiveness of alternative systems.

Both bills are now on the House Calendar for action.
