House Environmental Committee OKs Stormwater Act Exemption Bill, Resolution Against Delaware Drilling Ban

The House Environmental Resources and Energy Committee Tuesday reported out legislation exempting high tunnel greenhouse structures from the Stormwater Management Act and approved, by a largely party-line vote Republicans supporting, a resolution against a proposed Delaware River Watershed drilling ban.

The legislation includes--

-- House Bill 1486 (Zimmerman-R-Lancaster) exempting high tunnel greenhouse structures on farms from the Stormwater Management Act (sponsor summary) [a similar bill passed the House and died in the Senate last year]; and

-- House Resolution 515 (Fritz-R-Wayne) urging the Delaware River Basin Commission to suspend its consideration of a moratorium on natural gas drilling in the Delaware Watershed (sponsor summary).  Click Here for more.

The bill and resolution now go to the full House for action.
