Senate Committees To Hold Joint Hearing May 1 On Alternative Energy Portfolio Standards

The Senate Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure and Environmental Resources and Energy Committees are scheduled to hold a joint hearing May 1 on the Alternative Energy Portfolio Standards.

This is the second hearing being held by the Committees in connection with legislation-- Senate Bill 510 (Aument-R-Lancaster) to aid nuclear power plants.

Representatives of these agencies, groups and interests are expected to provide testimony-

-- Public Utility Commission and DEP to discuss AEPS generally

-- Panel 1: Community Energy, Mid-Atlantic Renewable Energy Coalition, Methane

-- Panel II: Appalachian Region Independent Power Producers, Hydropower, Municipal Waste

-- Panel III: Proponents of the legislation to aid nuclear power plants and add a Tier III

-- Panel IV: General Panel: Natural Gas Generator, PA Coal Alliance

-- Panel V: PennEnvironment, PA Environmental Council
