The Lancaster County Community Foundation is now accepting applications for Clean Water Fund Grants.  The deadline for applications is July 26.

Grants are being offered in two categories for high priority, high impact nutrient and sediment reduction projects to implement Lancaster County’s Watershed Implementation Plan

The grants offered including--

-- Conservation Grants of $2,500 – $5,000 are intended to stimulate smaller, implementable projects that are lead by locally based conservation organizations, municipalities and community groups.

-- Water Quality Impact Grants of $10,000-50,000 are intended to support implementation of large scale, high priority restoration projects that create a measurable impact on water quality. Please contact Allyson Gibson, Project Advisor, at agibson@lancastercleanwaterpartners.com to indicate your interest in applying.

Eligible applicants include municipalities and nonprofit organizations, but anyone is encouraged to collaborate with multiple partners for large scale partnership projects that are focused on implementation.

The funds can be used to pay for Pollutant Reduction Plan projects, watershed association projects, agricultural Best Management Practices, and many other water quality improvement projects in Lancaster County.

The lead partners in this initiative are the Lancaster Clean Water Partners, Lancaster County Conservation Foundation, and Lancaster Conservancy who ultimately work with other experts from the Lancaster Farmland Trust, Penn State’s Agriculture and Environment Center, Stroud Water Research Center, Chesapeake Bay Foundation-PA, the Economic Development Company of Lancaster, and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation.
