The Chesapeake Bay Landscape Professionals Program will host a Riparian Buffers For Landscape Professionals Workshop on September 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Paradise Township, York County.

Riparian buffers are increasingly being used to help state and local governments meet their water quality goals.  Landscape professionals have an opportunity to collaborate with landowners, municipalities, and watershed groups to improve the overall success of these practices.

This one-day workshop combines classroom instruction with field exploration of existing buffers, and hands-on activities.

Topics covered include multifunctional buffers, design aesthetics, plant layout and installation techniques, planning for maintenance, and invasive species identification and management.

The instructors for the Workshop are: Ryan Davis, Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay; Kristen Kyler, Penn State Agriculture and Environment Center and Nick Myers from LandStudies.

The Workshop is designed specifically for Chesapeake Bay Watershed Landscape Professionals, but is open to all interested professionals.

The cost of the Workshop is $50.  Click Here to register or for more information on this or related workshops.
