Matt Miller, author of the book Fishing Through The Apocalypse, will be visiting the Little Shamokin Creek Watershed Association for a book signing event on September 30 at 6:30 p.m. in Sunbury, Northumberland County.

Fishing Through The Apocalypse is Miller’s first novel, published this year.

“Miller’s book is a deep exploration of fishing in the 21st century, in a nation with the unique record of restoring more fisheries, cleaning up more waters,...It is a celebration of sport and the science and conservation that makes it possible,” said Hal Herring, award-winning journalist and contributing editor at “Field and Stream” magazine.

Matt is Director of Science Communications for The Nature Conservancy. He is editor and lead writer of the popular Cool Green Science Blog.

Matt is a Northumberland County native and graduated from Shikellamy High School in 1988.  Since then Matt has traveled across North America and to five continents to cover stories on science, nature and outdoor recreation.

In addition to his work for The Nature Conservancy Matt has written for Sports Afield, Bugle, Quality  Whitetails, and many other publications.

He’s an avid angler, hunter, naturalist and distance runner who lives in Boise with his wife and son.  However, you can find him in Pennsylvania for deer season.

The event will be held at the Watershed Association’s pavilion located at 182 Houser Road, Sunbury.  Rain location is American Legion Post 201 on Market Street in Sunbury.

Light refreshments will be served and copies of the book will be available for sale with help from Otto’s Bookstore in Williamsport.
