Controlled Plant & Noxious Weed Committee Meets Oct. 24 To Consider 8 Additions To Noxious Weed List

The Department of Agriculture’s Controlled Plant and Noxious Weed Committee is scheduled to meet on October 24 to consider the addition of 8 plants to the noxious weed list.  (formal notice)

Comments on adding the 8 plants invasive species will be taken at the meeting and, if time permits, the 8 plants will be considered at the meeting--

-- Brazilian water weed (Egeria densa)

-- Water soldier Stratiotes aloides)

-- Parrot feather (Myriophyllum aquaticum)

-- Yellow floating heart (Nymphoides peltata)

-- Phyllostachys aurea (Golden bamboo)

-- Phyllostachys aureosulcata (Yellow groove bamboo)

-- Phyllostachys bambusoides (Giant timber bamboo)

-- Wild parsnip (Pastinaca sativa) (except for non-wild cultivated varieties)

The meeting will be held in Room 39 of the Dept. Of Agriculture Building, 2301 North Cameron Street in Harrisburg starting at 1:00.
