In celebration of National Drinking Water Week, Penn State Extension, the Master Well Owner Network, and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection along with numerous other sponsors and partners are seeking presenters and sponsors for the 2020 Pennsylvania Groundwater Symposium at the Penn Stater Conference Center in State College.

The Pennsylvania Groundwater Symposium provides a forum for researchers, students, professionals and educators working in the groundwater field to exchange information and promote protection of groundwater resources throughout the state.

The day-long symposium will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, May 11, 2020 with opening remarks and keynote presentations.

Additional morning and afternoon plenary and concurrent session speakers will address numerous important groundwater issues in Pennsylvania.

Registrants can also receive continuing education credits for attending all sessions.

An optional field trip will be offered on Tuesday, May 12 for an additional fee.

The complete Symposium agenda and registration will be available in mid to late February 2020.

Abstracts for presentation can be submitted on a wide variety of groundwater topics including but not limited to: groundwater monitoring, climate impacts on groundwater, data availability and access, groundwater processes, karst groundwater systems, wellhead protection, water well studies, emerging contaminants, aquifer studies, groundwater/surface water interactions, issues related to energy extraction, and education and outreach.

All abstracts should be emailed to Bryan Swistock at brs@psu.edu by January 31, 2020.

The conference planning committee will review all abstracts and notify authors of acceptance via email in mid-February 2020.

Sponsors

In order to keep registration costs low for attendees, the Pennsylvania Groundwater Symposium is also seeking additional sponsors for the 2020 event. Sponsorships are welcome from any company, agency or entity at any funding level.

Sponsors will be acknowledged on the registration website, during the opening remarks to attendees, with signs throughout the Symposium venue, and in the Symposium Proceedings.

Organizations or agencies interested in becoming a sponsor should email Bryan Swistock at brs@psu.edu with the sponsorship amount and the organization's logo.
