Manada Conservancy Union Canal: Preserving A Piece Of the Past; Update On Swatara Creek Conservation Feb. 11 Dauphin County

The Manada Conservancy will hold a special Union Canal: Preserving A Piece Of The Past presentation on February 11 at the Hershey Gardens Conservatory, 170 Hotel Road in Hershey starting at 7:00 p.m. in Dauphin County.

Manada Conservancy's Executive Director, Jen Dunlap, will also provide an  update on current creek-side conservation efforts.

The Union Canal was an engineering marvel of its time, and you can still find remnants of it along the Swatara Creek today.

Ed Martel, tour guide for the Friends of Union Canal Tunnel Park, will present an historical overview of the canal including its construction, use, and local impact.

Martel is also the Chief Operating Office of Jonestown Bank & Trust Company, headquartered in Jonestown.
