One Health Seminar Series: PFAS Chemicals In PA Threaten Our Health, Environment, What Can We Do? Feb. 11 Bucks County

Delaware Valley University’s One Health Seminar Series will present-- PFAS in Pennsylvania: How 'Forever Chemicals' Threaten Our Health and Environment and What We Can Do About It February 11.

The program will be held at the Delaware Valley University Life Sciences Building Auditorium, 700 East Butler Avenue, Doylestown, Bucks County from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Sen. Maria Collett (D-Bucks) will be joined by panelists to discuss the PFAS contamination issue in Pennsylvania. The panelists have been immersed in the issue and the efforts to bring awareness to the local health and environmental impacts of these "forever chemicals."

The panelists include--

-- Joanne Stanton and Hope Grosse, Buxmont Coalition for Safer Water Co-Founders.

-- Kyle Bagenstose, an investigative reporter with the USA Today Network. As a former Bucks County Courier Times environmental reporter Bagenstose spearheaded "Unwell Water," an award-winning series on PFAS contamination in the region.

-- Dr. Sharon Watkins, PA Department of Health Director, Bureau of Epidemiology and State Epidemiologist.

One Health is the multi-disciplinary approach that works locally, regionally, nationally, and globally to attain optimal well-being for people and society, the environment, and plants and animals.

Together, the three major components make up the One Health triad, and the well-being of each is inextricably linked to the others.
