Senate Agriculture Committee Holds Virtual Meeting June 23 On Bill Allowing Wind Energy Facilities In Ag Preservation Areas

The Senate Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee is scheduled to hold a virtual meeting on June 23 to consider bills allowing wind energy facilities in farmland preservation areas and to set aside farm conservation funding for land trusts.

The bills include--

-- Senate Bill 881 (Martin-R-Lancaster) setting aside state farmland preservation funding for local land trusts (sponsor summary); and

-- House Bill 441(Sonney-R-Erie) allow wind energy facilities in Agricultural Security Areas (House Fiscal Note & Summary)
