Senate/House Agenda/Session Schedule [Updated]/Bills Introduced

Here are the Senate and House Calendars for the next voting session day and Committees scheduling action on bills of interest as well as a list of new environmental bills introduced--

Bill Calendars

House (April 5):  House Bill 754 (Day-R- Lehigh) would exempt eating and drinking establishments that bottle and sell water from the state Safe Drinking Water Act; House Bill 755 (Day-R-Lehigh) would require eating and drinking establishments that bottle and sell water to comply with the state Safe Drinking Water Act requirements for water sources. <> Click Here for full House Bill Calendar.

Senate (April 19): Senate Bill 251 (Yaw-R-Lycoming) which sets standards for the application of fertilizer to turf, provides for the certification of professional fertilizer applicators and for labeling and an education programSenate Bill 435-- encouraging the development of clean transportation infrastructure to support electric, natural gas and hydrogen vehicles. <> Click Here for full Senate Bill Calendar.

Bills Introduced

The following bills of interest were introduced last week--

Cap & Invest Climate Program:  House Bill 989 (Kinkead-D-Allegheny) establishing the cap and invest climate program to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from power plants consistent with the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative.

Farm Conservation Assistance Program: Senate Bill 465 (Yaw-R-Lycoming) establishes a new program to pay for on-farm conservation measures administered by the State Conservation Commission, no funding is provided.  Read more here.

Farmers Exemption:  Senate Bill 469 (Brooks-R-Crawford) exempting farmers from removing gravel bar, flood debris or stream obstructions related to normal agricultural operations from Dam Safety and Encroachments Act (sponsor summary).

Program Guaranteeing The Highest Cost For Nutrient Pollution Reduction: Senate Bill 475 (Yaw-R-Lycoming) establishing the Clean Water Procurement Pilot Program guaranteeing the highest price per pound of nutrients removed. Read more here.
