The Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership and Trout Unlimited have released two more videos in their series on conservation projects that benefit hunters and anglers powered by the Keystone Recreation, Park and Conservation Fund.

Jose DeJesus - Lehigh County

This second video features a local angler from Bethlehem-- Jose DeJesus-- who has fished the Monocacy since childhood.

He is an avid angler and conservationists and works with the Monocacy Creek Chapter of TU and local watershed organizations to restore and protect the creek and its wild trout population from threats like stormwater runoff and stream bank erosion.

Several projects along the Monocacy were funded by the Keystone Fund.

Nate Fronk & Holly Sheisley - Wayne County

The third video features Holly Sheisley and Nate Fronk as they retell the story of Holly’s first successful goose hunt and how it was made possible by a million dollar investment from Keystone that made the purchase of the “Klondike Property” in Gouldsboro possible.

The property was then transferred to the Game Commission and added to SGL312.

The property also protects important wetlands surrounding the headwaters of the Lehigh River.

Brodhead Creek - Monroe County

The first video in the series describes the Brodhead Creek in Monroe County that has drawn anglers to its banks for generations.

In 2014, working alongside local municipalities, the Pocono Heritage Land Trust and Brodhead Watershed Association were able to secure the purchase of 40 acres of land and approximately a half-mile of Brodhead Creek.

State conservation dollars provided by the Keystone Fund were matched and amplified by local funding sources to conserve this valuable habitat and establish new fishing access.
