Photo

Two DEP advisory committees are scheduled to meet in the near future on the draft final-form regulations reducing Carbon Pollution from Power Plants consistent with the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative.

The Air Quality Technical Advisory Committee will meet May 17 and DEP’s Citizens Advisory Council will meet on May 19.

Both may take votes on whether to recommend the final regulation move forward to the Environmental Quality Board for action.

The last time these committees met on the proposed RGGI rulemaking, the Citizens Advisory Council voted to oppose moving forward and the vote at the Air Quality Technical Advisory Committee ended in a tie.

DEP is scheduled to present the final regulation to the EQB for action in July.

Ahead of these meetings, DEP posted several documents--

-- Draft final-form regulation language

-- Powerpoint Presentation

-- Reference Case Results

-- Policy Case Results
