Chesapeake Conservation Landscaping Council Hosts Buffer Certification Courses For Riparian Buffer Month In October

The Chesapeake Conservation Landscaping Council is hosting a series of buffer certification courses in October to help celebrate Riparian Buffers Month.

Buffers Certification

The three-part buffers certification course includes--

-- October 12: Buffer Basics Webinar 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

-- November 2: Site Assessment Workshop - Field + Classroom. 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

-- November 30: Maintenance Workshop - Field + Classroom. 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

The in-person classes are offered in the Lancaster, PA, and in the Charlottesville, VA areas.

The Council is pleased to offer generous partial scholarships from Penn State, the James River Association, and RISE, for this course.  You must reach out to katie@cblpro.org about scholarships before you register.

Urban Buffer Design Charrette

In this course, participants work collaboratively to design an aesthetically pleasing buffer that overcomes the unique challenges faced on urban and suburban sites, while helping meet water quality and habitat restoration goals.

The courses will be held October 19 (two sessions) and 26.

The field trip is not required and we welcome participants from outside Virginia to join this class.

Scholarships are available to those who live/work in the middle and upper James River watersheds.  Contact katie@cblpro.org about scholarships before you register.
