York Conservation District Hosts March 4 Manure Management Plan Workshop; DEP Conducting Farm Compliance Inspections

The York County Conservation District is hosting a free Writing Your Own Manure Management Plan Workshop on March 4 at the York County at Pleasant Valley Road Building, 2401 Pleasant Valley Road, York from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

All farms that generate or apply manure to fields must have a Manure Management Plan (MMP) to be in compliance with Pennsylvania state law.  This includes anyone who has horse or hobby farms.

The goal of this workshop is for participants to complete their MMP in one day.

Attendees will receive a copy of the updated Manure Management Manual and the presentations will include best manure management practices and guide participants through a step-by-step process for developing their MMP.

Time will be allotted throughout the presentations for one-on-one assistance.

Did you know the Department of Environmental Protection is doing compliance inspections in York County?  Are you prepared?  Don’t miss this free opportunity!

The event is free but registration is required by February 25.
