DEP Citizens Advisory Council To Hear Presentations On Draft Environmental Justice Policy Changes, Environmental Education Update April 19

The DEP Citizens Advisory Council is scheduled to meet on April 19 to hear presentations on the draft changes to DEP’s Environmental Justice Permit Review Policy and on the agency’s Environmental Education Program.

DEP Secretary Patrick McDonnell is scheduled to give an update on agency activities and a DEP written report to Council on its activities is also available.

Environmental Justice Policy

Justin Dula, Director of DEP’s Office of Environmental Justice, will give the presentation on draft changes to DEP’s Environmental Justice Permit Review Policy that is now the subject of a public comment period and hearings.  Read more here.

Environmental Education

Bert Myers, DEP Environmental Education Program Supervisor, will provide an overview of the agency’s environmental education initiatives from administering the EE Grant Program, the PA FalconCam, developing resources for formal and non-formal educators and much more.

Legacy Issues Report

The Council will also review a copy of a draft Legacy Issues Report covering legacy pollution issues in Pennsylvania to be submitted to DEP for consideration.
