DEP Sets June 28 Hearing On Response To PFOA/PFOS Contamination Around University Park Airport, Centre County

On June 28, the Department of Environmental Protection will hold a public hearing for the residents of Benner Township, Centre County on its response to PFOA/PFOS contamination around the University Park Airport under the state Hazardous Sites Cleanup Act.

The hearing will be held at the Benner Township Municipal Building, 1224 Buffalo Run Road in Bellefonte starting at 6:30 p.m.  Read formal notice here + PA Bulletin notice, page 2910.

The interim response consisted of providing bottled drinking water to residents with contaminated water supplies.

DEP proposes to install whole-house filtration systems on residential water supplies with concentrations of PFOA/PFOS exceeding 70 ppt.
