The Gabriel Chamber Ensemble will join Hawk Mountain Sanctuary in Berks County for a second annual Music on the Mountain performance. The performance will take place on September 10 at 2:00 p.m. in Hawk Mountain’s ADA accessible Outdoor Amphitheater.

The Sanctuary is excited to partner with the Gabriel Chamber Ensemble for an afternoon of beautiful music in the rejuvenating natural environment of the Sanctuary. There is limited seating, and tickets cost $25, $20 for Hawk Mountain members. Purchase tickets here.

The Gabriel Chamber Ensemble string quartet will play a selection of unique classical pieces that highlight the versatility of the stringed instruments.

The pieces span a variety of origins and time periods, from J.S. Bach’s “Prelude from Suite in G Major for cello solo” composed in the early 18th century to “Danzas de Panama” by William Grant Still, composed in the mid-20th century, giving attendees insight into the breadth of experience that classical music offers.

Following the performance, the attendees are welcome to stay for light refreshments and a meet-and-greet with the performers.

Limited bench seating and folding chairs are available in the amphitheater. Seating is first come, first served, but guests are welcome to bring their own chairs. Heavy rain cancels; rain date is Sunday, September 11, with notification by email.

On the day of the event, ticketholders can show their performance programs in the Sanctuary’s Visitor Center to redeem a 10% discount in the Mountain Bookstore or $10 off a new Hawk Mountain Membership

“Hawk Mountain is thrilled to partner again with the Gabriel Chamber Ensemble, and our amphitheater is the perfect setting for a day of classical selections outdoors,” says Mary Linkevich, Director of Development. “All ticket sales will benefit both organizations, so it’s a wonderful way to support two Schuylkill County non-profits,” she adds.

Now in its 33rd season, the Gabriel Chamber Ensemble is a Schuylkill County nonprofit dedicated to presenting high-quality performances that nurture a diverse community with music that enlivens, enriches, and educates.

The ensemble delights its audiences with informative and fun presentations and has also worked to initiate community and education outreach programs to inspire musicians of the future.
