The Independence Conservancy will host three Waste Tire Collection Events in Beaver County from 9:00 a.m. to Noon on these dates--

-- September 24: Brighton Township Road Dept., 1250 Brighton Rd., Beaver

-- October 1: Hookstown Fair Grounds, Route 168, Greene Twp., Hookstown

-- October 8: Ambridge Borough Building, 600 11th St., Ambridge

Individuals and small businesses are welcome. Tires on rims are acceptable. No proof of residency is required, and there is no limit to the number of tires or wheels any one person may bring.

Event organizers ask that visitors remain in their cars at all times during the unloading process.

Disposal fees for auto and light truck tires up to 18” off rim are $4 each; $5 if on rim. SUV tires over 18” off rim are $5 each.

Tractor trailer tires up to 22.5” and farm tractor rear tires up to 75 lbs. are $20 each, but no rims please.

Farm tractor tires over 75 lbs. are priced according to weight.

Community tire collections are offered as a public service to provide proper and affordable disposal of scrap tires, thus reducing the risk of Zika and West Nile viruses by eliminating stagnant water where mosquitoes breed.

The Independence Conservancy is a nonprofit 501c3 environmental stewardship organization active in Beaver, Washington and Allegheny Counties. Over 58,000 scrap tires have been properly disposed through the Community Tire Collection Program since its inception in 2004.
