Penn State's Earth And Environmental Systems Institute will hold another in its series of EarthTalk webinars September 26 on a Snapshot of Pennsylvania’s Solar Sector — and Programs and Policies to Grow It starting at 4:00 p.m.

The Department of Environmental Protection published the report "Pennsylvania’s Solar Future Plan" in 2018 detailing how the Commonwealth can increase solar generation by 2030.

Since then, the solar industry within the state has grown steadily, and several initiatives have been launched to continue that growth. However, there are many policies and programs that could expand solar energy access that have yet to be implemented.

Allen Landis, executive director of the Pennsylvania Energy Department Authority, will be the featured presenter.

Landis’ talk is part of the fall 2022 EESI EarthTalks series, “Exploring the Multiple Dimensions of Solar Energy.”

Using both a local and global scope, the series addresses the latest perspectives on policies, environmental management, and the technological advancements towards the dual use, and social and cultural implications of solar energy.
