The DCNR Watershed Forestry Team is excited to announce that we are seeking nominations for our 2023 Watershed Forestry Leadership Award!  The deadline for nominations is March 31.

The Watershed Forestry Leadership Award celebrates exemplary leaders with significant, positive impacts that bring people together to advance watershed forestry practices in Pennsylvania.

What makes a Watershed Forestry Leader?

Individuals (staff or volunteers) and teams who take a collaborative approach to restore water resources in Pennsylvania and beyond. Their efforts and actions serve as inspiration to others and are effective at building engagement, trust, and partnerships within and across organizations.

Essential qualities of a Watershed Forestry Leader:

-- Their work and impact have far-reaching effects at many levels

-- Connect ideas, concepts, and people together

-- Inspire others to work collaboratively and creatively

-- Lead with courage

-- An excellent role model

Who is eligible?

Individual employees, volunteers, and teams working with watershed forestry practices in Pennsylvania. Watershed forestry practices include riparian forest buffers and lawn conversions (turf-to-forest and turf-to-meadow).

Please take a moment to nominate a Watershed Forestry Leader who exemplifies these qualities!

If you nominated an individual in the past who was not awarded, there is no need to resubmit their nomination for this year. All prior year nominations will be considered again in 2023.

If you would like to edit your previous responses in any way, please contact Teddi Stark at c-tstark@pa.gov.
